Our client is a European Office Furniture Manufacturer and had been selling in the UK for 20 years with slow growth and an ageing sales team. They appointed Surtio to analyse the current UK business and team, and then appoint a new MD. The first stage was recommending the most appropriate way of removing the current MD; we then advised a cool off period for us to find the right candidate. During the cool off period we worked with our client to write a short to medium business plan for the UK, which then allowed us to find the right candidate to implement the business plan. The brief was for the new MD to grow the business in sectors, increase the product portfolio, and make it easier for strategic partners to work with them. We worked with an outstanding candidate over a 6 week period who was currently a Sales Director for a major brand in the sector. In their first 3 years in their new role they increased turnover threefold and built a new team within the UK.
